Privacy Policy

PhoneCommander is built to keep your data on your own devices. This page explains, in plain language, what the website and the app do and don't collect.

1. Who is responsible

The controller responsible for this website and application is:
[Operator name] · [Postal address] · hello@phonecommander.com

2. The website

This is a static marketing website. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies and includes no third-party analytics or trackers. Your language and theme choices are stored only in your browser's localStorage and never leave your device.

If the site is served by a standard web host, that host may keep short-lived server access logs (such as IP address, timestamp and requested page) for security and to operate the service, as is technically necessary. These logs are not used to profile you.

3. The application

PhoneCommander runs entirely on your computer. It accesses your iPhone directly over USB (via Windows Portable Devices) or over your local network (via the optional companion app). Your photos, videos and files move only between your phone and your PC.

4. Ads in the free version

The free version of the desktop app shows a single banner in one strip. It is fetched from our own server (phonecommander.com) each time the app starts and is a plain image with a link, served by us — there is no third-party ad network, no ad SDK, no cookie and no advertising ID, and nothing is stored on your device for advertising.

5. Purchases (Pro)

If a Pro upgrade is offered through an app store (for example the Microsoft Store), the purchase is processed by that store under its own privacy policy. We receive only the information needed to unlock your license; we do not receive your payment card details.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. Because the app keeps your content on your own devices, most of your data is already fully under your control. For any request concerning data we hold, contact hello@phonecommander.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves (for example if optional analytics or advertising are introduced). Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.

Template note (remove before launch): replace [Operator name] and [Postal address] with the real controller identity, and set the effective date. If contextual ads or analytics are later added to the app or site, add a dedicated section describing the provider, purpose and legal basis. Last updated: [date].
